WATG is recruiting an experienced architect/business developer to join its architectural design team in London, England, UK.
– We are looking for an experienced architect to work on projects in China as well as business development. The candidate should have 8+ years’ experience in urban mixed-use projects including high-rise towers working with major Chinese developers.
– The role will include managing the design teams in London by reviewing the progress of the design, coordinating the input of other disciplines such as engineers, transmitting the Chinese Client’s requirements and ensuring that the project’s stages of work are delivered on time. Good experience in project management on large projects will be important.
– The candidate will be liaising with Clients in mainland China, making verbal and written presentations as well as coordinating with local consultants. Frequent travel between London and mainland China will be required to keep in touch with Clients and managing the London design team. Whiles in China, WATG’s office in Shanghai will serve as a base.
– The Senior Architect will be involved in business development, by researching new clients as well as making pitches and presenting to new clients. It will be important to have the ability to present projects in front of clients, authorities and the public. The candidate should be fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin).
– The senior architect should have extensive experience in Chinese planning and building codes / regulations as well as contracts. The candidate should have great negotiation and communication skills.
– The architect should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture and should have experience in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup or Rhino.
– A competitive market salary is on offer.
